Taking Responsibility

What’s the quickest way to get into action after your break-up?

If you’ve been sloshing around in confusion and riding the big dipper of indecision since your break-up, not getting the results you want, going round and round in circles, then the quickest way to get back into action is to take responsibility for your results – all of them – good and bad. Ones that make you proud and ones that make you feel ashamed.

When I say taking responsibility for your results, I don’t mean that you should be digging out your hair shirt and flaying yourself with birch – something that we women are metaphorically very good at. I mean it is time to own everything that happens and has happened in your life.

Responsibility for results is something I teach all my clients – it’s liberating and incredibly powerful. It’s the absolute foundation to building an exciting, powerful and a totally ‘owned’ life. Can you put your hand on your heart and say that you totally own and take responsibility for what happens and has happened in your life – with no emotional triggers?

When you can do that with total comfort, without blame for either yourself or anyone else, as I now can and I can teach you how to as well, then you can say that you have set yourself free by understanding and taking responsibility for what shows up in your life.

If you are ready and you want to experience and make

How Far Can You Trace Your Chain of Gratitude?

How far back can you trace your chain of gratitude for what you are doing, hearing, seeing and feeling today?

This came to mind for me today as I settled down to do some creative writing for a new promotion I have coming up. I had committed myself to doing it today as I was being held accountable in the mastermind group I belong to (Bernadette Doyle’s LEAP Retreat – which by the way is amazing and I’ve just had the most fantastic week with everyone in Portugal). But I’m going off track here a bit.

I took the phone off the hook, closed my email and put on some music to help me concentrate and get myself in a really good space for thinking creatively. As I sat soaking up the trance-inducing strains of Anugama, I said a heart-felt ‘Thank You’ to Lisa Turner (www.psycademy.co.uk) who had introduced me to the music. And then I realised that it went further than that.

I then found myself thanking Bernadette Doyle at whose event I had met Lisa, then Hannah McNamara for introducing me to Bernadette via an interview I listened to…. And back and back it went right into my past.

I was taken back to a dear friend who has emigrated to Zambia and the dead end business ventures we both embarked on together a few years ago, where we scraped our knees, felt foolish for being naïve and learned how never to do those things again!

How many coaches does it take to help you succeed?

So, how many coaches or mentors does it take to help you succeed?

The answer is …….  how deep is your desire to succeed?  People who become successful do whatever it takes to get them to that place.  The intensity of your desire to succeed and how much help you are prepared to seek out to guide you along the right path to get there are inextricably linked.

Your success comes from within you and it is likely to take more than one person to help bring out what is germinating inside you. It’s a bit like handbags.  Do you use the same handbag for every occasion or do you have different ones for different things?  Mentors and coaches come in all shapes, sizes and niches and I think it is perfectly OK to be working with a select handful of people who can guide you to where you want to be.

Think of all the different areas that you may want to develop as you start out and then begin to grow.  There’s your relationship with money, marketing you and what you do, speaking and promoting yourself and your own personal development.  When you begin to make a few changes you will see how it transforms everything you do because coaching helps you grow – and none more so than when you have paid attention to your personal growth and you are reaping the benefits.

I know I’ve said it before, but it never hurts to repeat it.  You
